The new £49 million Biochemistry building at the University of Oxford designed by Hawkins\Brown architects is now complete. Allitec has supplied all the loose furniture for this distinctive 12,000 sq m facility with its glass facades and coloured glass fins, which has been designed to house 300 lecturers, researchers and students.
Incorporating many different forms of furniture from laboratory and office chairs to exciting breakout furniture, bespoke desking, meeting tables and chairs, steel storage and much more. A new style of external furniture incorporating tables and benches was designed especially for the building’s roof garden and courtyard which has now been launched as a standard product by Allitec for exterior areas.
New Vinyl Colours
Although Henry Ford preferred black for the Model ‘T’ Ford for good production reasons because black paint dried more quickly we are pleased to be able to now move forward with an exciting range of vinyl colours. Historically, we have always been prepared to supply a range of colours but it never went much past black, blue and jade. We also had to choose between what was of medical grade quality and which was standard. However, great news – you now can choose from 85 new colours, all of which are of medical grade. We have selected the most popular of these colours and will be holding 5 colours, black, dark blue, sky blue, jade and ivory as stock upholstery for our Fast Track programme and a further 20 vinyl colours as stock ready to be upholstered. The remaining 60 colours will be available to special order. The new vinyl is the Spirit Millennium range from Naugahyde. It fulfills all the requirements that we need for healthcare environments and has this wonderful breadth of colours available.!
