Community Support Chairtrader is also aware of the responsibility companies have in the community. In this sense, we will often donate items of furniture to selected charities or local schools/institutions. Also by agreement with some of our customers we also donate a percentage of the sale price of recycled furniture to charitable organisations of our choice or support that of our customers.These actions are listed on this website for all to see that we mean it! |

Wallingford School
Allitec have been pleased to support Wallingford School by the donation of a number of chairs over the last year.
Our first donation was 70 polypropylene chairs which had come to us from Waitrose Head Office in Bracknell. Waitrose is a major customer of our sister division, Allitec, looking after all their seating, desking and storage needs.
Two further donations involved laboratory chairs and stools which were provided by Allitec’s supply of all the loose furniture for the new Biochemistry Building at Oxford University and Chairtrader undertook the clearance for recycling of the furniture not required in the new building.
We’re very pleased to be able to support our local school and will continue to do so. |

Thomley Activity Centre
Thomley Activity Centre is a recreational facility for disabled children, their families, friends, schools and groups. Thomley is to be found at Worminghall near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.
As part of its major clearance of the old Biochemistry Building at Oxford University, Chairtrader secured a substantial amount of green shelving and storage which will be used for the new young adult residential facility at Thomley. Chairtrader was introduced to Thomley through our support this year for Music for Autism, one of our two chosen charities for 2009 and a major supporter of Thomley.
Music for Autism is committed to raising public awareness and improving the quality of life of individuals with autism and their families through music. Our charity sponsors interactive concerts, specifically tailored to be “autism friendly” and to enrich the lives of those with autism in the United States and United Kingdom.

Henley Rugby Football Club
Anybody familiar with Chairtrader and its’ associated OSC Group brands will know of the close connection of several people within the business with the game of rugby and the local clubs, namely Henley, Wallingford and Abingdon.
Through a refurbishment by Allitec, our new furniture and projects division, at Waitrose Head Office in Bracknell, we obtained a number of rest room tables which have been donated to Henley Rugby Club
These are currently in use throughout the general bar area. |
